In August 2023 we visited Dunwich in Suffolk. This hamlet, believe it or not, was once a great city but centuries of storms and coastal erosion have wiped it away. Where bathers now swim a city once stood! We walked along the coast by the ruin of Greyfriars Priory and came across this gravestone on the cliff edge:

This map of Dunwich made in 1587 by Ralph Agas was copied by Joshua Kirby in 1753:

In the grounds of  the ruin of Greyfriars an Art project was underway.  Visitors were invited to draw or paint pictures of stones used in the building of Priory. Sian and Rachel joined in and added artwork!
