This is the ruin of Arnmore House, near Kippen. It was at one time a two storey Laird’s house.
GD17/81 December 1528: Charter under Great Seal in favour of John Stirling of Kere, knight, of the lands of Carnok, Durrisrail, Carnebrok, Carnecabir, and the Plane in the sheriffdom of Striuiling, the lands of Arnmore, with the mill thereof, in stewartry of Menteith, and the half of the lands of Culquhailze and Ballachargy in the stewartry of Stratherne and sheriffdom of Perth, and a tenement of land in the burgh of Struiling, which lands were in the King’s escheat by reason of the forfeiture of Alexander Drummond, formerly of Carnok, for treason and lese majestie, the said John receiving the said lands as compensation for the sum of £4000 or more which he had lost by decree of forfeiture against him, his escheat having been disponed to George Douglas.
