Theodore Dalrymple

Theodore Dalrymple’s writings in the British Medical Journal are much missed though I did not always agree with him.

The following ‘Personal View’ was one of his last submissions: “The demise of cultured doctors is bad for medicine”.

It forms an extract from a lecture given by Dr Dalrymple
at the Royal Society of Medicine on 4 May 2011
