Mar Lodge, Stirling

Mar Lodge sits right beside Stirling Castle and shares its majestic view. It was built in 1817 and has a simple, yet pleasing geometry about it. As a house it is not too big: it is of family size.

In 1906, Mar Lodge became a home for retired soldiers.

In 1946, it became a home for ‘Destitute children’. Billy was one of those children.
