Daniel McNab

I recently visited Glen Lednock, north of Comrie and explored the glen with Big Ted. What a beautiful place it is. However, there is also sadness. I was keen to remember Daniel McNab who sadly drowned in the river Lednock on the 19th May 1901. He was only 21 years.

Daniel’s father was a blacksmith in Comrie and began a dynasty of motor engineers that served Comrie for much of a century. Heartbroken, he died a year after Daniel’s death. The business was continued by Daniel’s siblings.

What follows is an incomplete timeline of the McNab story. It is likely that there will be villagers in Comrie, still alive, who recall the McNabs.
