A faded green book of history

This is a short film that explores the common ground between a gardener and a doctor. It was inspired by hearing Dr Gavin Francis talk about the need for us all to give time to heal and to let nature do what it naturally does. Of course, nature alone, for many serious conditions, cannot be curative – however we need to let nature in. Gavin Francis is a GP in Edinburgh. He is also an explorer and fine writer.

Last year I made a short film that began with [was inspired by] my well-used, and incredibly decrepit, gardening shoes! I called this film ‘MUD’. Believe it or not, when new, these were the shoes I once wore as a doctor!
