Nearly a decade has passed since I made this film about Hatton house and garden. I visited on my way to meet with Alexander McCall Smith in Edinburgh. I was reminded of Hatton and its beautiful garden after coming across the extraordinary ‘memorabilia‘ of Rev John Sime. This is the plan of Hatton house and garden, as drawn by Rev Sime in 1807:
