I am a volunteer gardener for Bannockburn House. This week Bannockburn House featured in most of the national newspapers and on national TV. This all relates to the ‘re-finding’ of a musket hole in the wood panel not far from Bonnie Prince Charlie’s bed. This was how Reporting Scotland covered the story:

A community of volunteers are doing all that they can to save Bannockburn House and garden but constrained by limited funding the future of this special historic place cannot be assured.

This is a film about historic Bannockburn House which I visited before the Community Trust took ownership. I dedicate this film to Mick Collinson and feel fortunate that I was one of the last people to hold his hands. Terri Collinson, devoted wife of Mick, somehow sensed that I was no threat and was simply interested in the old house and its custodians..
