Unfortunately I have not had the same experience.
It seems I am not alone in not having my voice listened to. The Scottish Government commissioned an independent review to gather public opinion on a Sunshine Act for Scotland. This Review was published over 3 years ago. You can read it here. The majority of those consulted were of the view that Sunshine legislation was necessary. However, the Scottish Government chose to quietly ignore this majority view:
