In researching the history of Craigforth House, Stirling, I came across some of the story of Niall D Campbell, 1872-1949, 10th Duke of Argyll. His mother Janey Sevilla Callander was born at Craigforth House. Niall was her only son.
Here is a timeline from old newspapers, beginning in May 1914 with Niall as the new Duke of Argyll:

Footnote: Ian Campbell, 11th Duke of Argyll, died in April 1973. While most dukes and duchesses of Argyll are buried at Kilmun Parish Church, Ian Campbell chose to be buried on the island of Inishail in Loch Awe. One of my earliest memories was of his funeral. I was aged 5 years old and my Granny took me there from our family cottage in Lochawe .
