l was sorry to read in the Scotsman of the recent death of Kenneth Calman. I was fortunate to meet Ken. This was when he was giving a talk in Surgeon’s hall Edinburgh about his book ‘A Doctor’s Line’. Afterwards we chatted about our shared interest in the history of medicine and the humanities. What a fine lad o’pairts Scotland has lost.
