On Saturday 15th September 2018 we visited Blackcraig Bridgehouse which was free to explore thanks to Doors Open Day Scotland. The Bridgehouse, a real curiosity, has been beautifully restored as a holiday let.
Blackcraig castle and Bridgehouse were designed by the artist Patrick Allan Fraser, of Hospitalfield. It was the highland home that he shared with his wife. After Patrick Allan Fraser’s death, Blackcraig was purchased in 1891 by the then Prime Minister, William Gladstone.
