   Hi, I am doing a family tree on Johnston Shearer as he is my great great great grandfather. I was just wondering if you had any more information about him?

      Hello Alexandra,
      I do not have a huge amount but I will send on what I have to you. It would be lovely to see Johnston Shearer’s photographs in a collection. Alas, I think they are well scattered.

   I recently learned that Johnston Shearer photographed the Victorian author George MacDonald in 1868. I am grateful for the information you provided about Mr. Shearer.
