I find this a delightful image. It is a view of one-side of the Grassmarket. Exactly when the photograph was taken is unknown, but is estimated to be sometime between 1900 and 1929. I find myself wondering about the little girl in the white dress. Where was her Mammy? Was she all alone? And, what about the man in black suit and hat. He appears to be walking stridently. Was he late for an appointment or important meeting? We will never know.
