The Princess’s Theatre in Glasgow opened in 1878 as Her Majesty’s Theatre and Royal Opera House, later became the Royal Princess’s Theatre, and finally the Citizens Theatre. Located at 119 Gorbals Street, it was the first theatre built on the south side of the River Clyde.
119 Gorbals Street was [almost completely] demolished in the 1970s. However, in recent years it has undergone a major redevelopment project, and reopened to the public in August 2025.
