words and places

This short film shares some of a recent brief adventure North.

  • I travelled north to visit Cecilia, who 90 years ago died in Upper Tullochgrue, Rothiemurchus. The story is deeply sad.
  • Whilst in Speyside, I searched for an Opel Olympia that had been abandoned in Caledonian woodland. I had just about given up looking for her when I found her. I have called her ‘Speedy‘.
  • I then travelled further north to Slaggan bay, Wester Ross. I did so for all those whose stories shine even though they have never been told.
  • From there I travelled by Ullapool, across Sutherland to Dirlot, Caithness, to finally meet the beautiful angel of Dirlot.
