Connel bridge is a is a cantilever bridge that spans Loch Etive. The above photograph was taken around the time of its completion in 1903.

A child, as a passenger in my Granny’s Mini-clubman, I crossed the bridge many times. I have loved bridges ever since. My Granny was called Constance. Few now remember her, but I do. My Granny was, and still is, my ‘cantilever’ projecting me ‘into’ then and now!
