Dear Callum,

Last weekend in my auld Land Rover I set off at 5am to visit you. It was pitch dark as I set off and I was not so  far north when – in switching my headlights to MAINBEAM – I found that all went dark. Using instinct only I gradually pulled into the verge of the A9. Here I waited for 2 hours for the sun to rise as rain incessantly fell.

‘Abandoned’ on this verge I spent my time observing the lights of passing vehicles as reflected in the rear-mirror of my Land Rover. This short film begins with examples of passing lights that all too easily could be mistaken as planetary.
