The narrator suddenly comes back

On Monday I went to Newport, in Fife, to take our grandfather clock for repair.  This clock belonged to my grandfather’s grandfather.

The photograph above is of my grandfather standing beside his grandfather at the door to Drumdruills.

In the year of my birth, 1967, the family grandfather clock [the Carluke clock] was put in storage. It was in storage for over 40 years, but thanks to my uncle, was returned to Bridge of Allan in 2010.

All of this is an aside. On the way home from the clock-repairer I passed by an abandoned cottage. Storm Arwen had blown the shutter-boards away.

This short film is part-imaginary and part-real. It is based on this abandoned home, long known as Powside.
