When I moved to Aberdeen in 1985 to study Medicine the first poster that I bought was from Aberdeen Art Gallery. It was this wonderful painting ‘Brother and sister’ painted by Joan Eardley in 1955:
I had this poster in student halls and then in my flat:
The Courier of 15 May 2021 had a wonderful article celebrating the life and work of Joan Eardley [1921-1963]
Tuesday last would have been Joan Eardley’s hundredth birthday.
