“Alexander Walker was a born in a croft at the foot of Tap O’ Noth near Rhynie Aberdeenshire. A gardener by trade, he became the gardener to Sir Charles Forbes at Newe Castle Strathdon. He played in the Newe Castle Orchestra and also at Balmoral Castle for the Queen, He wrote a collection of 196 Fiddle tunes. He also excelled in the Sciences of Botany, Meteorology, Surveying, as well as writing articles for the Newspapers.”
