‘borrowed words’

I have recently taken a most difficult decision: I have decided to retire as a doctor from the beginning of next year (2020). I really will miss being a doctor but perhaps now is the right time for me to develop as an artist. I must admit I am finding it difficult to put into words my thoughts and emotions about retiring early from a profession of which  I feel most fortunate to have been a part.  What follows is a collection of ‘borrowed words‘ from writers and artists that I admire [words that I have noted and kept ‘hold of’ because they encouraged me as a doctor].
