This film is for the memory of Archibald MacKinnon who first painted Christ on a crucifix in a cave on the island of Davaar in 1887.

The “quiet, polite and deferential MacKinnon” had left his mark.

I read a number of wonderful local history books when in Campbeltown and have used some of their work. To my shame I did not record the sources as I normally would. I will try and clarify these sources and correct this omission.
