Sea Shanties from Seven Seas

On a recent walk around the foot of Leith I came across Leith Dockers Club at No 17 Academy Street [this street was formerly known as Morton Street]. Behind a more recently built clubhouse, survives an old Georgian House. It has classic proportions with rising steps to the front door. This house is a survivor, and if it could sing would have its own shanties for us to hear. Alas, as buildings are inanimate, you will have to make do with this [incomplete] timeline that I have managed to ‘dredge’ from the archives.
