I am putting together an account of the life of Magnus Jackson, photographer, Perth. I will share this in due course. The above photograph is of the Jackson studio and shop, 62 Princes Street, Perth.
Magnus Jackson died in April 1891, aged 59 years. It seems that he may have succumbed to gradual poisoning by pyro-gallic acid which he used in developing his photographs. His son, Magnus [junior], continued the business but sadly took his life in February 1897, following the death of his wife.
