As a medical student, between the years of 1987 and 1991, I lived at 44 Midstocket Road, Aberdeen. My small flat overlooked the original Beechgrove Garden and on a Wednesday afternoon I used to watch them filming from my window:

I recently came across this death notice [I was actually looking for something else]. It was in the Aberdeen Herald, 24 November 1838:
I had never heard of ‘Gordondale’. So I looked up an old ordnance survey map and found that it was on Stocket Road, Aberdeen:
Gordondale has been demolished, but on this early 20c OS map you can see it was just along the road from where my flat was built [both marked in red]:
Having done further research, and based on the knowledge I gained from writing ‘Deeside Tales‘, I have come to conclude that Miss Margaret Gordon of Gordondale was a daughter of Peter Gordon of Mosstown. She was however, born in the Glen Muick parish:
Peter Gordon of Mosstown (c. 1714–1793) is an enigma. He died extremely an wealthy man. I am of the view that he was an illegitimate son of Peter Gordon, 11th Laird of Abergeldie
