Last week I headed north with Big Ted to visit the iron-roofed cottage at Upper Tullochgrue, Rothiemuchus. We had seen an application had been made to the Council for this building to be demolished and hoped that we would not be too late:

Unfortunately we were too late. The cottage had been erased. All that was left was of it was rubble and debris and this warning sign:


Amongst the rubble was little bits of surviving ephemera, such as these scraps:



There was also this hand-written receipt [it so happens that it was my uncle, John Gibson Scott who owned Dallas House in Boat of Garten and had a small boat at the wee lochan of Dallas]:
