Sadly, this fine early 19c cottage was demolished. It once had a very fine garden round it and Alexander Bald, the owner who built it, was a lad o’pairts. He was a close friend of James Hogg [the Ettrick Shepherd] and also set up the Alloa Shakespeare Association. In his garden, Alexander Bald set up his own meterological measuring station.
