Nearly 30 years ago the ‘Defeat Depression Campaign’ was launched. It ran for 5 years. It was sponsored by the pharmaceutical industry and was the “concerted policy” of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the Royal College of Practitioners.
In 1998, to help with anxiety I was started on an antidepressant by my GP.
