A day in the life of a young trainee architect

Hamish McLachlan [1920-2011] studied at the Edinburgh College of Art from 1937. His studies were interrupted by war service from 1940 to 1946, and he finally received his diploma in 1948. He worked as assistant in the practice of Basil Spence & Partners from 1949 to 1952.
