The cover of the December 2019 edition of the INSIGHT magazine of the Royal College of Psychiatrists has a cartoon that portrays the Election of the next College President as “the Election that really matters!”
I am no longer a member of the College and so cannot vote. Throughout November, the three candidates for the next President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists answered questions “important to members, patients and carers”. However the two questions I asked did not seem to be “considered important” by the Royal College of Psychiatrists in this “Election that really matters!”
My questions were:
- “If you are elected as President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists will you publicly support the introduction of Sunshine legislation?”
- “If you are elected as President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists how will you try to ensure that all Members, Fellows and Employees follow College Core Values, including on social media?”
