‘live in fragments no longer’

This is a passage from ‘A room with a view’ by E M Forster. It returned my thoughts to an approach to life taken by my profession, psychiatry. My thoughts also returned to the philosopher Mary Midgley, who died not so long ago, in her hundredth year. Mary Midgley had a room with a view where light poured in. She railed against the reduction of life.
