Many, if not all British newspapers have now been digitised for the British Newspaper Archive. Until relatively recently this had covered a period only up to the 1950s. However digitalisation is now reaching beyond this decade. The TV schedule (above) is one example.
I have been searching the word “Serotonin” in the British Newspaper Archive. It has been fascinating to find a pattern emerging. A pattern that does not seem to offer the same – simplified [‘scientific’] narrative – that has become so firmly embedded in cultural understanding.
