The road, not the signs

Today I travelled through to Edinburgh to meet with someone who had a professional interest in my medical writings.

The above poem, inscribed in steel is to be found by the seating area outside the Tun, Holyrood Road. It is the work of Stewart Conn, Edinburgh Makar. It was here that we met for coffee.

On the train I was reading poems from ‘Book of longing’ by Leonard Cohen:

Just beyond Waverley I passed Carubber’s Close and stopped at this sign outside the manse where Richard Holloway once resided:

Doon the mile, I stopped to say hello to Robert Fergusson:

Edinburgh is such a beautiful city, as captured here by the artist Eric Redmond:

Over coffee we talked about realistic medicine:
