I do not want to be a “Robodoc”

Dr Margaret McCartney offers her latest view in this week’s BMJ:

I do not want to be a “Robodoc”. I am Peter, a doctor, and I believe my humanity is vital to my professional role:

I do not want to be a “Robodoc” trained and regulated through military approaches.

Healthcare requires regulation, but not to the point where:

we are being regulated to death

and where only “Robodocs” operate.
