My view is that consent for any form of examination should always first be sought. Be such examination for physical, psychological or cognitive reasons.
Most examinations are based on good intentions. But perhaps we should recall that we live in a world where concerns only seem to grow. Even in a growing world of concern I am of the view that consent matters.
