I had never heard of ‘Gordondale’. So I looked up an old ordnance survey map and found that it was on Stocket Road, Aberdeen:
Gordondale has been demolished, but on this early 20c OS map you can see it was just along the road from where my flat was built [both marked in red]:

Peter Gordon of Mosstown (c. 1714–1793) is an enigma. He died extremely an wealthy man. I am of the view that he was an illegitimate son of Peter Gordon, 11th Laird of Abergeldie
8 December 1838, Aberdeen Herald:
It took 8 years for the estate of Miss Margaret Gordon of Gordondale to be settled. Was this because of her father’s ‘status’?
