UK psychiatry continues to minimise harmful experiences of antidepressants

I made this film 13 years ago [link below]. Since making this film, antidepressant prescribing to Scottish adults has risen from 1 in 9 Scots to 1 in 4.  This is an astonishing rise.

Antidepressants are NOT addictive. This has long been clear. However, many, like me have found that antidepressants can be very difficult to stop. This is a consequence of physiological dependence. Withdrawal from an antidepressant can be hell. I know. So do my family.

It is despicable for Psychiatry, as a profession, to continue to minimise harmful experiences of  interventions that may arise beyond short-term evidence [EBM] .
