‘Please withdraw my name’

I do not want a metal adornment,
awarded in CAPITALISED acronyms.

The ‘metal’ in me

no sheen,
no value.
But will last until I die.

A poem by Peter Scott-Gordon. My forebear Alexander MacCallum Scott, MP, turned down a British Empire Medal.  Alexander MacCallum Scott was Private Secretary for Winston Churchill
