UK Covid-19 Inquiry, Module 2A
I watched this morning’s evidence of this Inquiry with interest. During the hearing, the National Clinical Director for Scotland, Professor Jason Leitch, stated: “I was the spokesperson and communicator”.
Jamie Dawson KC, counsel to the inquiry, suggested that Professor Leitch was minimising his involvement in decision making. Counsel demonstrated Professor Leitch’s role in decision making by using evidence made available to the inquiry.
Professor Leitch’s job title is National Clinical Director and not National Communicator. It is interesting that now that we have got to hearing stages of the inquiry that Professor Leitch seems keen to stress the latter rather than the former.
