This article went on articulate Frederick Robert Tennant’s thesis that theology could help integrate ‘Departments of Knowledge’. As an aethiest I do not share this view. However I am passionate, ‘almost’ spiritually so, about the need for us to consider and learn from all cultures of knowledge.
Ian Hamilton Finlay once said:
“We are surely very narrow if we understand only one culture. They talk of ‘two cultures’ – but it seems to me there are twenty two. And all of value”
