to learn from the experience of others

Yesterday I was in the city of Perth with my wife Sian. It was in this wee Scottish city that Sian was born, where she grew up and was schooled [Sian was Dux medalist].  We took the opportunity to visit The Fair Maid’s House which has become a Science Centre  housing The Royal Scottish Geographical Society. If you are ever in Perth we would recommend it as a place worth visiting. It is a small place full of learning! On the walls and ceilings quotes have been painted. Somehow, I missed this one by Douglas Adams, but thankfully Sian drew my attention to it:

“Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.” Last chance to see.
