Yesterday I was in Aberuthven to get a run in my newly restored Series II Land Rover. I am hoping to get my driving licence back in June [I have had no further seizures].
Brian, the mechanic, has done a great job. SVS 978 has been under restoration over much of the last year and is running well. It now has original white wheels and the horn is working. But above all, it now drives safely and has seat belts!
Brian dropped me off in Auchterarder and I walked to Gleneagles railways station to take a train home to Bridge of Allan. Gleneagles railway station has also been restored and it looks braw. It is a shame that ‘older adults’, like mysel’, are not so easy to restore!
