At the Thieves Pass

In the CANMORE archive there is a photograph album that belonged to Isabel Asher. The album gives a tantalising glimpse of a holiday in Edwardian Scotland, including this delightful photograph of a picnic at Achernack, dated 1907:

Achernack [Auchernack] is in Speyside [Abernethy parish] and for 300 years was home to the Head of Clan Allan.

On another page of Isabel’s album is this slightly blurred photograph, also from 1907:

I do not know about you but I find myself longing to have shared the craik at this Achernack picnic!
