For much of the last decade I have advocated and campaigned for a Sunshine Act for Scotland. I have put forward the evidence why such legislation is a necessary part of Realistic Medicine, including Realistic Psychiatry. Neither the Royal College of Psychiatrists nor Scotland’s Chief Medical Officer have supported Sunshine legislation. It is important to note that there was a consultation with the Scottish public on this and the majority of those consulted were of the view that Sunshine legislation was required.
