‘Fattening calves in Strathaven’

On the way back from Ayrshire we passed this ruin. Old maps have revealed that it was a farmhouse called Dykehead:

 

It must have still had roof up till the time of the outbreak of WWII:

Dykehead had been a prosperous farm as this report from 1819 indicates:
