Open Letter to all of the Royal Colleges: Sunshine legislation

I have just sent this letter:

Subject: Sunshine legislation

Bridge of Allan,
7th October 2018

Dear Royal Colleges, General Medical Council, UK Governments, UK Parliaments/Assemblies, Chief Medical Officer for Scotland, Chief Medical Officer for England, MHRA, NICE, SIGN, Science Media Centre, the APPG on prescribed drug dependence and withdrawal, the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry, and the British Association for Psychopharmacology.

There seems to be an increasing understanding that without the introduction of sunshine legislation the potential for iatrogenic harm will continue in the UK. I have been involved in this subject for many years and have previously petitioned the Scottish Parliament to consider the introduction of a Sunshine Act. As a consequence of this petition the Scottish Public were consulted and this confirmed public support for such legislation.

I wish to share with you a recent summary that I have made which may give you an insight into the relevant issues.

It is surely time for the leading organisations in the UK to support the early introduction of Sunshine legislation.

I am writing this in a personal capacity and will be sharing this communication with a range of media correspondents.

Your sincerely,

Dr Peter J Gordon
GMC number 3468861

    1. Thanks Chrys.

Did my comment on your post about being banned from Lawrie’s biomedical research monopoly make it through? I have resent it a few times. It is a disgrace for Research to exclude voices. This is all about power (and the misuse of). It leaves me very cross.

      Aye Peter

      1. Your comment didn’t come through Peter. Not sure why.

I didn’t expect to be included. Prof Lawrie’s band have been mistreating me for many years. In fact since 2008 when I first got involved in Scotland’s MH “recovery” world as a psychiatric survivor Mother or person with “lived experience”.
