Support from professional associations

In a previous post I shared an exclusive BMJ article which reported that “Nine in 10 professional organisations say doctors should have to register their financial interests”.

In the current BMJ [22 May 2021] a letter of reply by Simon Peck, retired Insurance Medical Officer, has been published:


Footnote: A senior office bearer for the Royal College of Psychiatrists told me some years ago that: “In relation to the ‘sunshine’ campaign, I do not believe that Professional Royal Colleges should express a view on the topic.” This senior office bearer recently confirmed with me: “That view has not changed.”
