By chance I came across this ‘dispatch notice’ in a newspaper from March 1844:

Mary-S u n d a y-Thorne was from the village of Black Thorington:

Mary Thorne was the village Ironmonger and her shop was on the High Street. Her second husband,  ‘a dear and affectionate friend of the village’ died four years before she did, but not on a Sunday.
