Land Rover hedge

The old 1952 Land Rover was owned by mechanic Frank Bullen. He parked it there when it broke down in the 1980s. He bought the vehicle second-hand for £50 and was told it had been to Cape Town and back, and had clocked up over one million miles.

In 1992, whilst studying Landscape Architecture with the University of Edinburgh, I wrote a dissertation titled ‘DESIGN WITH HEDGES’. This is how it began:
